Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week. Shift working 4 on, 4 off Days 07:00-19:00

In a nutshell


As a Workshop Technician, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the continued safe operation of our aircraft. You’ll carry out off and On-Wing maintenance tasks to the highest airworthiness standards, supporting operational reliability and delivering an exceptional experience for our customers. 



Day to day


As a Workshop Technician, you will: 

• Carry out hands-on maintenance of aircraft & components in line with approved maintenance procedures 

• Work under the instruction of a supervising Engineer, while also completing delegated tasks independently using your own initiative 

• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed accurately, on time and in compliance with airworthiness requirements 

• Maintain accurate records across computer systems and aircraft documentation

• Apply sound engineering practices, recognising the impact of maintenance quality on safety, reliability and customer confidence 

• Adhere fully to Health and Safety policies, including the use of PPE and safe working practices 

• Participate in appraisals, technical training, refresher courses and regulatory training 

• Take ownership of cost control, waste reduction and compliance with engineering safety standards.



About you


We’re looking for someone with a strong aircraft structures/composite engineering background who takes pride in quality, safety and teamwork and has held form 1 workshop structures approval.

In addition to the above, we’d love for our successful Technician to demonstrate: 

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within maintenance teams 

• Strong adaptability to changing environments and working practices 

• A clear understanding of efficient engineering techniques and a willingness to improve ways of working 

• A strong commitment to Health and Safety and regulatory compliance 

• Confidence using company IT and maintenance recording systems 

It would be great if you also have: 

• A recognised aeronautical apprenticeship or equivalent relevant experience

• Previous Form 1 holder experience 

• Sound technical knowledge of aircraft structures, systems and components 

• Experience working on the Virgin Atlantic fleet, or comparable commercial aircraft 

• An EASA/CAA licence with relevant certification privileges, including company approvals where applicable
